Thread: Which consoles do you currently own and which do you currently play?

Let me have my wanks
Platforms
  1. PC
Just curious is all. Not what you used to own. What you currently own.what you currently play.

Currently play
Xbox Series X
Nintendo Switch
Xbox One S

Currently own but don't play
PC
Original Xbox
Xbox 360
PS2
PSP
Vita
3DS
Wii

For me, the Series X is easily my platform of choice. While I've recently acquired a Switch, and have enjoyed my time with it thus far, I do see it as more of a supplementary machine overall. My One S is set up in my bedroom. On occasion I'll play in bed at night or in the morning if I'm not reading or dicking around on my tablet. It's mostly where I play indies in my Xbox library, sometimes older titles too.

My PC used to be my main platform, but I haven't had anything really draw me back to it in months aside from random bursts of Minion Masters here and there. All my other machines I keep around for when the mood strikes. The PSP, Vita, 3DS, and Wii are excellent little emulation machines. I pretty much just treat my Wii like a SNES 😆. Alongside my PS2 and OG Xbox, it stays hooked up to my 32" Sony Trinitron. I used to love retro gaming... lately I've not been able to fully respark that flame. PS2 is legit just my Tekken 5 console at this point lol

How about you?

Just PC these days. Not because I'm PCMR but simply by virtue of the fact that I have a massive backlog of around 600 games, and so there's always something to play. If console games eventually turn on PC that's great and if they interest me then I might pick them up, but I'm not holding out for anything. As is I have to choose my poisons.

pretty much got all the nintendo consoles excluding the virtualboy nobody liked that junker.

Own:
PS5
Series X
Wii U
PS3
Xbox 360
Wii
PC(If that counts)

I play everything except Wii U which its currently unplugged and mainly using it for ripping games. PC is my main platform, but im playing on consoles lately.

Currently own a PC and a PS Vita. Only play on PC. Wanted to buy a PS5 because I have a backlog on my PS4 that I sold... then couldn't buy a PS5, then their games started to come to PC. I have no issue waiting for games to play them with mods, better visuals etc. so here I am.

I own the following:

2007 60GB PS3 (launch unit)
2008 60GB Xbox 360
2014 500GB Xbox 360 E

The 60GB 360 is my main console. It's the only machine I still use.

Did you never buy a console after 7th gen? I find this fascinating

Ps4 and xb1 didn't appeal to you at all?

I traded in my PS2, Gamecube,Xbox and all of my games/accessories for a 360 back in 2006 at a Gamestop and i STILL didn't have enough credit for a 20GB Premium 360. Dad paid for the rest. Kicking myself for doing that in hindsight. :/

I currently play my Switch, PS3/4 and my 3DS.

Still own but don't play: I still own a SNES which was the first console we owned growing up which I won't sell for purely sentimental reasons. Also still have a Wii because until the Switch came along I still used it for entertaining friends/guests. I may hook it back up at some point, there's still a lot of great games I like to play that haven't been ported elsewhere. Also have a DS kicking around somewhere in a box.

All my other consoles I sold. NES, N64, GC and Wii U. Master system, Genesis, Saturn and Dream cast. Turbografx 16. PS1 and 2. My OG Xbox and 360 both died. I basically sold off everything that I acquired in my collectors phase.

I bought my 360 E last year to keep as a backup unit (it's brand new). I've never owned an eighth or ninth gen console – I decided to skip PS4 and Xbox One in 2013. There are a few exclusives on the PS4 that appeal to me (DriveClub for example), but I'm not going back to the PlayStation platform, so I can live without those games.

In regard to Xbox One and Series X|S, I've already picked up a handful of last and current gen Xbox games, despite not owning the hardware. There is very little on the horizon that interests me.

I plan to pick up a Series X (or a more powerful version of that model) at the end of this gen, mainly for the BC performance boost. That will be my last home console.

These days, my main focus is on sixth and seventh gen Xbox games. I spent the last year and half building up my 360 library. With the exception of a few games, I finally have all the games I want. The launch PS3 I have only has about a year's worth of total use. I put it into storage around 2010 and haven't touched it since, so it's been boxed up for the last 12 years. I don't think I have more than 10 PS3 games.

My regulars are the PC, MiSTer FPGA (mostly Atari ST, C64, Spectrum, SNES, Genesis, PSX) and Switch, but the PS2 and PS3 get some love too, as does the wife's 3DS. That said they're all getting less time with the baby. How the hell do you guys have space to store all these consoles? And what the hell mess of wires do you have to connect them to your TV?

Series S and PC are the main ones.

I occasionally play my PS2, PS3 and my OG Xbox (for the exclusives that they have). I also fire up the Wii U sometimes.

I wanted to buy a Switch but I gave up on that because game prices here are too expensive (only imported and even the digital store has the same price tags, Nintendo is fucking stupid, so fuck them, I play Yuzu instead).

I intend to buy a PS5 in the future to play the exclusive PS5 stuff and the PS4 games I missed.

Currently play:
Xbox Series X

Own but don't play:
SNES Mini
Nintendo Gamecube

I sold my Xbox One S and my PS4 at the beginning of this generation. I really want a Switch but my backlog is too big. I currently have Dark Souls 3, Disco Elysium and As Dusk Falls installed and on hold. I will be getting a PS5 later as well for God of War: Ragnarök and all the awesome exclusives they have.

I'd like to add a PS5 and XSX but I just ain't feeling it this gen.

Own:

PC
New 3DS (broken R button)
Wii U
Wii (hacked for retro)
Xbox Series S (currently for sale, can't shift it)

Play:
Switch, almost daily.
PC, couple of times a week.

Have got Dolphin installed on my PC for GameCube games but looking into buying a console as I have quite a few games in my parents' loft. In the market for an old CRT to eventually hook the GC and Wii up to for better retro.

A CRT is a game changer. I absolutely fucking love mine. Beautiful bit of kit, £30 very very well spent.

I pretty much just use my PS5 with the Switch for the rare exclusive that I give a damn about.

I won't list older hardware but safe to say it's a lot. From the Colecovision to modern stuff, I've played decades worth.

Own, in order of how much I play:

1. PS5
2. PC (MacBook)
3. X1X
4. Switch

I pretty much only play Xbox for Halo and Forza. I play Switch with my kids. PS5 dominates my wife and I's playing time. I also play Blizz games and RTS on Mac/PC.

I mostly play handhelds, so I only have a few wires to juggle. Everything I'm not using is secured in storage boxes, with a few silica gel packs to prevent condensation and rust/mold, in my mums loft.
