72 million Euro are in the Euro Jackpot right now. That's a nice sum of money and made me think about the impact it would have on my life. How I would handle it.

I'm pretty conservative with money and my main goal would be to invest and manage it wisely so the next generations of my family would profit from it. Which would stress me out quiet a bit. But I have good contacts to people who work in investment etc. so I wouldn't be too worried.

Btw. 70% of lottery winners go broke.

Don't think my marriage could survive it because my wife would be totally corrupted by the money and our philosophies would be totally contrary. I'd want to keep a rather low profile. Sure, I'd buy some nice stuff, but I know that it isn't fulfilling and would limit myself. While she'd go high life, would show off etc.
Also, depending on each other financially and needing to be a team kinda holds the marriage together to some extend. Having that kind of money would most likely end in a divorce and constant fights how to raise the children and so on.

I think it would be more of a curse than a blessing. Winning a couple of million, yeah sure, would be great. But 72 mil would introduce issues I wouldn't want to deal with.

I would firstly get a nice house in England, then I would get enough GPU's to get a mining farm making at least $50,000 a year. After that I would probably invest in an investment property or two, invest in some crypto holdings and help family pay off debts. After that I would probably give a lot to charities, then with what I had I would go on the search for a wife who is great at cooking. I would need to make sure she'd was a good person firstly and then test the food over time.

All in all, a wonderful future of good food awaits.

People will be after your money. They'll get greedy. People will ask you for help, to lend them money. They'll expect you to always pay and invite them, will get salty if situations aren't clear. Its enough money that i could live rent-free inside society's head.

So i would first and formost send/procure a sizeable amount to my aunt living in Riga to help her accuire medicine for the poor and elderly.

I'd put some away in a fund for some kind of purpose after being gone. Probably to set up a school or a place of knowledge, maybe for a publisher house or something.

I'd probably keep a portion myself to do travels. There are places still to go and to hike, and that's where that would be for.

Another fund perhaps for the family.

I wouldn't really size up. That kind of money can get you a lot of luxury, but not a lot of happiness.

I don't think it would change things too much with my friends and family. Most them are level headed. I'd give my brother and sister a fair bit of it, so they would have nothing to complain about.

I'm just very sceptical because I've seen it way too often that money caused issues. Even if not directly between friends, then for example because suddenly they had a new women in their life who seeded some bad thoughts in ones head. Definitely helps to have a rather small and very down to earth circle of people.

Move to the west country, get a nice farm to do up with a decent amount of land, so I could be comfortably self sufficient.

I'd get whatever lump sum was really won in my possession and immediately pay the estimated taxes on it. I'd go to a financial planner and only tell them about half of what was left. That half could go into some very safe, long-term investments so that decades from now, it'll be like winning the lottery a second time when the money comes back with growth.

The other half I'm gonna live as fucking crazy as I can with to some degree. I'm getting the nice house and a very decent car up to $100K and then probably pay people to drive me anyway while it sits in the garage. I don't like to flaunt or exhibit anything. I'm a very low profile person. I would travel a lot, eat a lot of good food and visit a lot of historic and nature sites around the world. But as incognito as I could. And I would also keep working.

I think what a lot of lottery winners do in the states is set up a trust that collects the money. It depends on the state whether you can collect anonymously. But if you can, you can get the money paid out to you through the trust without anyone knowing.

Your family might wonder how you suddenly bought a mansion and see that the most recent jackpot win was in the city where you live and put it all together, but you can afford hitmen.

Going broke from that substantial figure has to be harder than it is easy, that's a lot of buffer to make mistakes.

The easy stuff is what you do in the first month: sort out my parents, get them a nice new home and a retirement fund and anything else they might want or need. The same for some friends, without getting them into a situation of living above their means.

Long term is essentially that but for myself but fleshed out. A retirement fund means my money needs to make money, so I imagine it would be fingers in various pies. A combination of simple savings and investments. Then, both related and separate, comes what to do with my life. I don't want to be bored, so some of it would be invested into businesses on a more personal level.

After that it's leisure. Learn and experience a lot to have a full life. I do have fairly simple tastes. Things like flying Dpad members to a private island and making you fight for my amusement.
